World Archery and World Archery Africa, in coordination with the Archery Association of Namibia and supported by Olympic Solidarity, have announced an upcoming World Archery Level-1 Coaching Course. The course will run from October 25 to 29, 2026, at the Arebbush Travel Lodge in Windhoek, Namibia.
Led by international World Archery coach trainer Mr. Carlos Freitas (POR), this intensive course is designed under World Archery’s latest coach education framework. It focuses on mastering the general principles of archery instruction—equipping coaches with the skills to teach beginners across all age groups and abilities.
Course Details & Highlights
- Dates: October 25–29, 2026 (Arrivals on Oct 24, Departures on Oct 30)
- Location: Arebbush Travel Lodge, Windhoek, Namibia
- Instructor: Carlos Freitas (World Archery Expert)
- Key Topics: Standard Teaching Process (STP), entry-level equipment maintenance, shooting form & execution mechanics, mental preparation, physical development, and beginner tournament readiness.
- Language: Delivered in English.
Eligibility & Requirements
To qualify for selection, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year as an active archer or coach (recommended).
- Language: Upper-intermediate English proficiency (B2 level or higher).
- Required Online Certifications:
- ADEL Anti-Doping High-Performance Coaches Certificate
- IOC Safeguarding Athletes from Harassment and Abuse Certificate
Funding & Local Coverage
Local costs during the course—including accommodation (double occupancy), three daily meals, local airport transfers, and full facility access—are covered for all confirmed participants.
Note: International flights, visa fees, and travel insurance are not covered by Olympic Solidarity and remain the responsibility of the attendee.
How to Apply (Strict Deadline Notice)
Because international candidate slots for Member Associations outside Namibia are extremely limited (only 4 international spots total across Africa), selection is handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
While the official World Archery deadline is September 15, 2026, interested Zimbabwean candidates must contact ZAA Secretary General, Baz well before the deadline to allow time for application verification, endorsement, and SRC clearance.
