Team Zimbabwe has delivered a historic performance at the 2026 Africa Genesis Archery (AGA) Federation Tournament in Lobatse, Botswana, making history by securing a clean sweep of Gold medals in the Junior Championship.
Held at the Big Valley Lodge from August 12 to 15, the annual tournament saw Zimbabwe’s finest young archers go head-to-head against top regional competitors from Botswana, South Africa, Namibia, and Zambia.
A Historic First in 12 Years of International Competition
For the first time in Zimbabwe’s 12-year history of international AGA competition, the Junior National Team captured three sets of team Gold medals:
- Bulls-Eye (BE) Junior Championship: Gold 🥇
- 2D Animal Junior Championship: Gold 🥇
- Overall Junior Championship: Gold 🥇
The Zimbabwe Junior Development Team also mounted a strong showing, finishing fourth overall in both Bulls-Eye and 2D formats—just narrowly missing out on the medal podium.
Individual Standouts & AGAF Top 16 Selections
Andrew Manning delivered an exceptional individual performance, claiming the Bronze medal in the 2D format with a 3rd place overall ranking, alongside a 6th place ranking in the Bulls-Eye format.
Four Zimbabwean archers earned prestigious spots in the tournament’s official 2026 AGAF Top 16 Team:
