The new 2027 World Anti-Doping Code will take effect on January 1, 2027. To help athletes prepare, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has launched a new online course called the 2027 Code Companion for Athletes.
The course is available in English and French on WADA’s ADEL e-learning platform. Anti-doping organizations can use it right now to teach athletes about the upcoming changes.
What the course covers:
This interactive course explains the key updates to the 2027 rules, including:
- Drug testing and investigations
- Medical exemptions (TUEs)
- How results are managed
- Data privacy
Why it matters:
Instead of just listing the rules, the course explains why these changes are happening and how they affect athletes. The goal is to help athletes understand their rights, know their responsibilities, and make smart choices so they can compete fairly and cleanly.
