Please take note of the following important updates, upcoming events, and administrative notices for the Zimbabwe Archery Association (ZAA):

 

  1. Committee Meeting Notice

  • Date: October 10, 2026

  • Details: The formal meeting notice and agenda are attached to this email.

 

  1. Upcoming Competition Reminder: 2026 Indoor/Outdoor Regional Tournament

  • Dates: October 3–4, 2026
  • Start Time: 09:00 AM
  • Venue: Abbys Prep School
  • Details: A joint indoor/outdoor regional tournament between Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe. If you haven’t registered yet, please use the following link: https://forms.gle/to7a6GZkPsZbunZK7
  • Please share on your groups, the deadline for registration is Friday, September 25th, 2026

 

  1. Colours Committee Process

The Colours Committee has (finally) met and agreed upon a streamlined process moving forward. The final committee meeting (October) of the year will serve as the dedicated Colours Committee meeting (a separate colours committee meeting will be convened in November/December 2026 due to the short notice). Each member club/affiliate may submit 1 member to sit on the committee, joining Committee chair Wayne Whitaker, ZAA President Felistas Chikadaya, ZAA Secretary General Barry Blanchard, and ZAA Results Convenor Judith Gratwicke. Member clubs may submit details and supporting documents for members who have met the performance requirements for discussion before this meeting.

As it’s been a while since we’ve done this, we have asked SRC for details on the required information to be shared with them, and as soon as they(SRC) get back to us we will have a detailed list of supporting documents needed for each application.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind members that ZAA does not award National Colours, we send a list of nominated candidates to SRC for their review, all decisions on award of National Colours reside with the SRC.

2027 Calendar of events

Please take note of the provisional calendar in the Committee Meeting Notice and Agenda.

Please, can all member clubs and affiliates forward your proposed calendar dates for upcoming events and tournaments so we can consolidate the national calendar. Initial discussion will begin at the committee meeting on October 10th with the aim to have this completed by October 31st.

 

End of year invoices

Member clubs are kindly requested to submit updated member lists to the SG at secretary@zimarchery.com as soon as possible so our Treasurer can arrange and issue membership invoices.
