SUMMARY:2026 African Archery Championships in Oran\, Algeria
DESCRIPTION:Algeria will host the 15th edition of the African Archery Championship in Oran from July 20 to 26\, 2026.\nThe continental competition\, sanctioned by World Archery\, will bring together 16 African nations and nearly 180 athletes and officials to the Mediterranean Village of Bir El Djir in Oran. \nSixteen African countries are expected to participate: Algeria\, Tunisia\, Egypt\, Senegal\, Sudan\, Niger\, Uganda\, Zimbabwe\, South Africa\, Namibia\, Mauritius\, Libya\, Kenya\, Guinea\, Ivory Coast and Chad. This diverse representation underscores the championship’s significance as a key event on Africa’s sporting calendar\, with organizers anticipating strong competition across all disciplines. \nApproximately 180 athletes and officials will take part in the week-long competition. Participants will be accommodated at the Mediterranean Village complex in Bir El Djir\, while all archery events will be held at the stadium within the same facility. \nFor the first time in Africa\, this Championship will include both Recurve under 21 categories (born in 2006\, 2007 & 2008) and Recurve under 18 categories (born 2009\, 2010 & 2011) in addition to Seniors cateories of RM\, RW\, CM & CW. All Para Archery categories are allowed to participate and all African Para athletes will have the chance to be classified before the Championships through “International Classification”. \nOran is a port city in northwest Algeria\, known as the birthplace of rai folk music. Fort Santa Cruz\, an Ottoman citadel rebuilt by the Spanish\, sits atop Mount Murdjadjo and has views of the bay below. Nearby is the whitewashed Chapelle Santa Cruz\, built after a cholera epidemic. In La Blanca\, the Turkish old town\, is the 18th-century Pacha Mosque with an octagonal minaret. It is considered the second most important city of Algeria\, after the capital\, Algiers\, because of its population and commercial\, industrial and cultural importance.

SUMMARY:2026 AGA Africa Tournament in Lobatse\, Botswana
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 edition of the Africa Genesis Archery Tournament will be held at the Big Valley Game Lodge in Lobatse\, providing a scenic and\nprofessional backdrop for the competition\, featuring the finest Genesis archers from Botswana\, Namibia\, South Africa\, Zambia\, and Zimbabwe. \nTOURNAMENT OVERVIEW\nThe tournament will consist of three distinct events. All teams must consist of 16 archers\, with a minimum of 6 archers of the opposite gender represented in each team. \n\nAGA Senior Championship (Adult/AAG Teams)\nAGA Junior Championship (National Teams)\nAGA Development Challenge Teams\n\nSCHEDULE & VENUE\nThe tournament will be held at the Big Valley Game Lodge in Lobatse\, providing a scenic and professional backdrop for the competition. \n\nOfficial Practice: 12 August 2026\nCompetition Days: 13–15 August 2026\nAwards Evening: 15 August 2026 (18h00)\nDeparture: 16 August 2026\n\nCOMPETITION FORMAT\nThe tournament will strictly adhere to AGA Rules and includes the following formats: \n\nBulls-Eye: Each of the three teams per country will shoot three ranking flights.\n\nThe top three countries will then compete in knock-out flights to determine Gold\, Silver\, and Bronze.\n\n\n3D Animal Round: Each of the three teams will shoot two 3D flights.\n\nThe total cumulative score will determine the Gold\, Silver\, and Bronze medalists.
